Two Steps Back is a narrative-based research project that presents cases of “moral licensing,” a psychological phenomenon that occurs when virtuous actions free people to act less-than-virtuously at a later time. The output includes expressive collages and infographics about three stories of varying topics: gender bias in the 19th century English Art world, racial bias in 20th & 21st American politics, and religion in Texas, post-hurricane Katrina.
